The Big Day
Today I send my baby off to preschool. It's a really big day for all of us.
There will be the picture, yes. That's a given. She'll wear a sheepish and apprehensive smile, I'm sure. And I will have the photograph to always remind me of this day. The one that will be first to many more days just like it, as I gently nudge my little chick from the nest, encouraging her to experience her own adventures. My mama heart will be quietly breaking, watching my baby flap and fly as she begins her journey; the slow, steady flight toward her own bright, limitless horizon.
I take great comfort in knowing that no matter how far she travels, we will always share the same beautiful sky.

i feel your pain, sister!
luckily, there's the instant bliss of a couple of uninterrupted hours to help ease the way. :)
carter starts 5-day pre-kindergarten today.
