Let's Talk

You are officially invited to come join a cool group of moms for a Mother Talk salon. Here. At my house. I know, many of you are sprawled all over the country but if there are any of you that live in the So Cal area and want to make the trip on Saturday night to flop on my couch, (THIS Saturday, March 31st) I'd simply love having you.

The guests of honor will be two brilliantly hilarious writers, Brett Paesel and Erika Schickel. Brett's book is called Mommies Who Drink (don't you like her already?) and Ericka's is You're Not the Boss of Me. I've been switching off reading them before bed and they're killing me. So great! Brett got tons of well deserved praise when her book was hot off the presses and Ericka's getting all kinds of attention and blog love as she's making the circuit now. I even heard her chat with Kristen at Motherhood Uncensored's radio show. God, these bloggers are trying to take over the world, aren't they? It's a good listen, for sure. It got me even more excited about Saturday.

If you've ever heard of Andi Buchanan and Miriam Peskowitz, or Stacy DeBroff (all goddesses of the written word as well) you'd know that this whole Mother Talk thing is backed by some pretty incredible women. Besides the blog book tours they host, the are the alchemists behind these literary salons. The salons are about getting moms together to talk, and sip wine (or in my case, down a few pints), hang out, and enjoy each other's company in someone's living room. Like mine. Did I say talk? I like that part because, me? I soooo like to talk.

Anyway, if there's a chance you can make it just drop an email. It's going to be great fun! And if you can't be here, perhaps there's a Mother Talk happening near you. Or you could host one yourself. But you'd better invite me if you do!

You do know how incredibly jealous I am, right? Me way over on the east coast.

This sounds like so much fun. I know you people will have an unbelievable time. Have a glass and a pint for me and I'll be waiting for the report.

WOW! Too funny! Mommies Who Drink recently made the rounds in my lil' circle of friends!!!! How funny is this? OMG! You are so LUCKY!!!! Would love to be there! Unfortunately, I am saving for a new CANNON (D30 *sigh*) but I do appreciate the invite! lol :} Have fun and drink some for me!!!!!! ;}

Sounds like a really fun night out (or... I guess that's a fun night in for you Tracey!). That would be an awfully long drive from NJ though! Have fun!

GAH! Totally wish I could make it. Alas, the huge camping trip with a group of friends we never get to see is blocking my access.

Please do this again!

I co-hosted a MotherTalk with Brett last year, in Portland, and I couldn't love her more. How I wish I could be there with you! Have a drink for me!

I've been to two Mother Talk salons in Philadelphia...incredibly rewarding and well worth the drive to get there for me. I WISH I could pop in at yours and flop on your couch, sigh...have a good time!
--D.--

Sorry to say I will be unable to attend... That sounds like a winner though!! Good Luck on the turnout & be sure to let us all know how it goes!!
