Mele Kalikimaka Monday
Yesterday was my daughter's annual grand holiday hula extravaganza. What a spectacle! Although I have to admit, as I am making these costumes I am often swearing I'll never do it again (yes, all moms must make the costumes for their kids and it's been almost 3 years for me now) when I see the girls all dolled up in their Hawaiian best I change my tune and am reminded that it's worth every stitch.
Not a bad shot for a point and shoot camera huh? My Digital Canon Rebel is on the blink (not good) and I must say, I actually felt a tad bit liberated to only have a tiny camera to deal with. It just reminds me that although it's super fun to have a fancy camera, it can be just a nice sometimes to use a trusty point and shoot. And, for the record (and as a testament to my fine little HP number) this is posted straight from the camera. No edit at all. I'm pretty pleased with the results.
Did your Best Shot Monday get you in the holiday spirit?

Picture perfect.

How fitting! I tried to take a picture of my girls for our christmas card yesterday. Not an easy task with an 8 month old who won't sit still. The pic is my best shot.

Love the hula holly! Very cool idea and beautiful shot. We don't exactly have the weather that inspires hula themes, but my shot left me feeling warm just the same!

That is a great composition! I am struggling with fancy cameras at the moment and just long for a simple (but high res) PAS. Nevertheless....

Yes, that photo is an inspiration of what you can do with a point and shoot. Well done.

Me too--let's see the whole costume!
And Tracy, I'm still shooting with the original Canon Rebel, too. What's next for you if you have to replace it? I think it won't be long for me.
Here's my homework assignment for photographing children class this week--eek! Was meant to be a range of emotion, not quite sure I found it!
